The Dasic Free Standing Unit (or Drop pipe) offers a fixed installation facility for crude oil washing machines.
The Free Standing Unit is basically a fixed downpipe, stiffened for strength and rigidity, to which a flanged tank washing machine can be mounted at various depths below the deck level.
The lengths of the units (i.e. from deck to the centre line of the nozzle head) are largely governed by the optimum washing position. The size and output of the washing machines required dictates the supply pipe size.
The Free Standing Units are of a mild steel welded construction, the welding conforming to BS 5 135-1974; Metal- Arc welding of carbon and carbon manganese steels.
The materials conform to BS 4360 grade 43A steel for the flanges and stiffening webs, and APL 5L tube for the downpipe. Unless requested otherwise, the units are coated with red oxide primer prior to dispatch. Stainless steel (AISI 316L) units are available if required.
Standard input flanges are provided unless otherwise required; similarly, the deck flange (main seating) is to suit a standard deck opening.
Gaskets are provided for all flanged faces, together with non-corrosive fixings and earthing straps.
The standard arrangement is as illustrated. However, many variations are available depending on limiting heights and distances in particular mounting positions. A typical example is a unit in which the downpipe is in detachable sub-lengths for installation purposes.
